Cooper was a goner. Tonight, Alana made him wonder if he’d ever actually truly been intimate with anyone before her. Well, he realized he’d had plenty of sex, but after this, he felt changed. Alana had given him everything. She’d opened herself up and given as good as she got. This in itself was a rarity for him. Satisfaction had never been easy for him to achieve, but right now, he could die a happy man.

“That was amazing.” He tilted her chin to meet his gaze. “You’re okay?”

“Hmm,” she murmured. “More than okay. Fantastic.”

“I agree with your assessment.”

But no matter what she’d said, he had worried about physically hurting her. About taking her too hard and too deep. Instead, she’d been the one to egg him on with sweet and sexy words that drove him into a near frenzy.

They were quiet for a few minutes as he tried to resume the natural pattern of his breathing. Alana’s head was nestled in the crook of his neck, and she felt perfect there.

“When are you going to take me home?” she asked him.

“Why? You want to go home?”

“I don’t have to work until tomorrow afternoon. But I thought...maybe you wouldn’t want me to sleep over.”

She sounded tentative and insecure, and his chest pinched. And while it was true he didn’t normally host sleepovers, no way was he getting rid of Alana.

“I want you to stay. All night if you can.”

“Oh, yeah? And what are you like to sleep with? Do you snore?”

“I guess you’ll find out, won’t you?” He went up on his elbow, his hand drifting under the sheet to glide up and down her bare, silky skin.

“I talk in my sleep.” She studied him from under hooded eyelids. “I’ve been told.”

“Well, why didn’t you say so?” He reached for his phone. “I’ll record you.”

She laughed and smacked his hand. “You will not.”

“Don’t you want to know what you have to say?”

“Not really. It could be embarrassing. If you hear anything, don’t listen to me. I doubt I mean anything I say when I’m dreaming.”

“Lucky for you, I sleep like the dead.”

But she had him wondering. If she mentioned loser Patrick in her sleep, he might wake her up to get her to stop talking. Coop’s goal was for her to forget the guy who’d abandoned her ever existed.

“That’s perfect. Then I won’t bother you.” She smiled and straddled him, then lowered her head to brush a kiss across his lips.

He loved this, the way she so self-assuredly moved with him. They were perfectly in sync, as if they’d been doing this for years instead of a few hours. He had worried she’d be shy with him because of her changing body, but if so, she didn’t show it. And he found her body gorgeous, her breasts rosy and incredibly responsive to his every touch.

Later, she fell asleep in his arms.

Coop didn’t know what time it was when he heard a soft voice that woke him out of his sound slumber.
